Save Money With Homemade Skin Care Facial Masks

Making that first impression is very important. Hence, taking good care of the face is vital, as the face is the first area that people look at when they see you. Yet, good facial care is what many people fail to do or keep up with. There are so many varieties of products (which are costly) available in the market that even the most ardent skin-care fanatic is confused. To have a good skin-care regime, including cleansing, toning, moisturizing and masks, it does not have to be tedious or expensive. Homemade facial masks are easy to make using ingredients that are readily available in the pantry or fridge. These make the whole skin care process affordable and easy.
Strawberry Cleansing Mask
The strawberry mask refreshes and draws impurities from the skin. To do homemade strawberry mask, mix ½ cup of ripe strawberries with ¼ cup of cornstarch. Apply to your face and leave it on for 30 minutes. Avoid the eye areas. Rinse off.
Peach Pore-Tightener
For homemade peach pore tightener, blend one ripe peach and an egg white. Apply to your face for 30 minutes. This is a great natural way to tighten the open pores on the face.
Orange Oily-Skin Mask
Orange skin mask is effective in drawing excess oil from the skin and improving complexion. To make this mask, squeeze an orange into a bowl, and add flour to make thick paste. Spread across the face. Leave it on for 20 minutes then wash off.
Avocado Moisture Mask
Avocado mask re-hydrates the skin. It is good to apply this mask on the skin when the weather turns dry and windy. Mash a ripe avocado with a dash of olive oil. Apply to your face.
The above masks are just a few of the hundreds of homemade facial masks that you can make at home. Other commonly used home ingredients for mask include pineapple, cucumber (for its clarifying and soothing properties), natural yogurt, apple (for potassium), and oatmeal (soothe the skin gently).
This may sound funny but one of the benefits of using homemade facial masks in your routine skin-care is – you know what you are putting on your face. It is difficult to determine what ingredients are included in the buy-over-the-counter products and the reaction of your skin towards these products. They are also very costly. For homemade masks, you can change the recipe if they are not suitable for the skin. But this is not so for the ‘bought from store’ products. If your skin reacts negatively to these products, it is a waste of your money as you cannot use them anymore, or you have to give them away to your friends or family members. Another benefit of homemade facial skin care masks is its variety. It is cheaper and easier to make different homemade masks than to buy different beauty products!
Keep these facial skin care tips in mind. Taking care of your face need not be an expensive affair. It is relatively simple. Just a walk to your refrigerator will give you a smooth, hydrated and clear skin that you desire!
